Session announcement: HR and people management

Session announcement: HR and people management
Join Imogen Edmunds from Redwing Solutions, Kirsty Gray from Grandir UK, and Debbie Cotton from The Old Station Nursery to discuss recruitment, retention, and more.

HR is an enormous discipline spanning so many topics, from equal employment opportunities to hiring processes, recruitment, retention, employee wellbeing, staff management and more.

As we all know, the nursery sector is struggling with staffing at the moment, and there is a need for settings to be more innovative in how they attract staff – not just from within the sector, but from outside sectors too. HR directors are increasingly looking to recruit from unusual places, such as attracting a new demographic of over-50s.

Nursery groups are also adjusting their offerings, and Mark Hassan-Ali, people director at N Family Club, recently told the NMT Owners Club that he offers 26 different working patterns to nursery staff because flexible working is increasingly important to people.

As a manager, you need to think outside the box to try to attract staff and, crucially, keep them around. And where better to learn how, than by listening to a panel with Imogen Edmunds, Chief executive at Redwing Solutions and leading advisor, in conversation with two top in-house HR leaders?

Kirsty Gray is operations director at Grandir UK, which owns 66 nurseries across the midlands and the south of England, and Debbie Cotton is head of people at The Old Station Nursery, with 25 settings in the UK.

Join Imogen, Kirsty, and Debbie to:

  • Learn how to attract and retain good staff during a recruitment crisis
  • Understand the importance of particular pay and benefits to staff
  • Discover innovative approaches to staff wellbeing and creating an environment where employees can thrive

You can find Imogen and the Redwing Solutions team on Stand E35 for a chat after the panel.

And head to the Free CPD 2 theatre at the show to find out more about supporting your team’s wellbeing and improving retention. Join Lucie Sweeney, wellbeing manager at Kids Planet Day Nurseries, for a training session on creating a positive working environment, implementing wellbeing strategies, and coming up with your own creative ideas to support staff wellbeing.
