Session announcement: Behaviour and Big Feelings
In Behaviour and Big Feelings: leading your team in a framework of connection & well-being, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of children and how to best support them, particularly when times get difficult.
This free CPD session, led by Sarah Emerson from Cocoro, will explore why the interplay between nature and nurture means that some children really do struggle more than others – and what we can do about it.
With expert advice from Sarah, you will learn more about emotion coaching and including it in your curriculum. You’ll find out how to change children's outcomes by replacing praise and consequences with a growth mindset and self-regulation.
During the session, you will also get tips to support your team with their individual challenges when it comes to 'behaviour and big feelings’.
Who is leading the session?
Sarah Emerson has worked in teaching, management, senior leadership and training roles. She now runs Cocoro as an independent consultant and trainer, working with early years settings and parents.
Sarah holds an MA in early childhood studies, is a qualified early years teacher, and has a postgraduate certificate in child, adolescent and family mental well-being. She advocates for responsive, connected relationships with children that support emotional well-being, resilience and self-compassion, leading to a radical change in the way we see and support children’s behaviour.
