CPD is all about learning new skills, or building on skills you already have, to improve and develop as a nursery manager.
The agenda for Nursery Managers Show at NEC Birmingham has two whole streams dedicated to Free CPD – and it's all accredited by The CPD Group. Here's a rundown so you can start thinking about which sessions you want to attend!
Leading your team
In the Free CPD 1 stream, early years consultant Alison Featherbe will teach you how to create and maintain a positive and supportive workplace environment, with actionable steps to use in your day-to-day management.
A workshop with Impact Futures will provide you with strategies for navigating difficult conversations in the workplace, with techniques to help you de-escalate conflict and bring about peaceful resolutions.
We've also got sessions on what it means to be both an effective leader (Early Years Alliance) and an authentic leader (Impact Futures), as well as a panel discussion around how to manage an inclusive and diverse team.
Managing your setting
In the Free CPD 2 stream, a workshop with the Early Years Alliance will guide you in navigating business management challenges, while sessions focused on recruitment and retention will give you top tips from Grandir UK and more leading organisations.
Sessions with nursery owner Lucy Lewin will help you to conduct a 'dynamic audit' of your setting and to master the art of induction and onboarding staff, with tips to make a great first impression.
There's also a session with a chartered physiotherapist, who has some expert advice to support your staff's physical health and therefore reduce sickness absence, as well as a panel discussion on the role of food education in nursery settings.
