With less than two weeks to go until the Nursery Managers Show, we’re gearing up to host you at the NEC for a fantastic two days of workshops, panel discussions, networking, and fun. 

And with great timing, the King’s Birthday Honours List, which marks the extraordinary contributions and service of people across the UK, included an MBE each for two of our brilliant speakers: our host Davina McCall, and panellist Nicola Fleury.

Host Davina McCall

Davina received an MBE for services to broadcasting. As a well-known face on televisions across the nation, she has appeared on countless reality TV programmes and covered topics from food and fitness to, most recently, the menopause. 

Davina said: “I can’t believe it. It’s a great honour and it really means a great deal.”

Davina’s 2022 book Menopausing, which covers her own experiences and explores the options available to people going through the menopause, has prompted a national shift in the conversation around ageing and women’s health.

Davina will be joining us on the main Entertainment Stage to chat about her life and book, interview care managers, and more!

Panellist Nicola Fleury

Meanwhile, Nicola, managing director at Kidzrus, received an MBE for services to early years education and her inspirational work in the Salford community.

Nicola was particularly active in welcoming Ukrainian refugees to the Kidzrus community when the war with Russia broke out, and she is speaking in our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion session, which is all about making your nursery a welcoming and safe place for children from different backgrounds, whether that be children with LGBTQ+ parents or from different countries.

Nicola told NMT editor Briony Richter: “I’m absolutely overwhelmed and truly humbled to receive the honour and incredibly proud.  It was amazing to receive the news some weeks ago.”
