A deputy nursery manager works closely with the nursery manager, supporting them with day-to-day operations of the nursery. You will help to ensure that the nursery is being run effectively and to the highest possible standard.
Responsibilities of a deputy nursery manager can include, but are not limited to:
- Helping to recruit, train and manage staff
- Assisting the manager with planning and organisation
- Making sure EYFS requirements are met
- Ensuring the nursery is compliant with Ofsted guidelines
- Communicating with parents/carers
- Ensuring that children’s needs are being met
- Liaising between staff and the manager
- Covering for the manager if they are absent

To be a deputy nursery manager, you need to have skills including:
